This is my collection area for various Speed Triple bits and pieces.
One of my greatest frustrations with the 2005+ Speed Triple is the seeming lack of accessories for it, some which might be considered simply style items (like a tail tidy) and others which adress serious lackings in the stock bike (such as a rear hugger). Now that the model is in it's second year of production (2006) I would expect there to be a greater availability of offerings... and it seem that there are. It also seems to be the case though that there are not many all-ecompassing collections of accessories available. All the more so if you are trying to find it from the United States.
So I am trying to categorize and assemble pieces of info on what I do come accross from various sources. Most of this comes from links and other mentions I find in various Triumph-related web forums.
The Speed Triple is supposed to be a naked bike, so I certainly don't expect a whole lots as far as wind protection goes and I'm not really sure about if I would ever really add any to my own bike... that is until I spend an hour or so on the highway with a headwind...
This is the standard ultra-mini fairing from Triumph... it looks like a nice little piece of plastic, but that is about all it is. I suspect it doesn't do a whole lot for you on the bike. In Jet Black it is Triumph part # A9708130-PG and runs US $260.
SECDEM makes an add-on "double bubble" screen that attaches on top of Triumph's fly screen and seems to afford additional protection. It also seems that Bagster (who has a really flashy horrible site) has aquired this part of SECDEM and now markets the screens under the "Bullster Secdem" name. It is a bit hard to locate them online, on an English language site, but there is one here at www.fanbazar.com for 95 Euros (about $115 at the time, May 06).
ERMAX, another French company, makes another nice looking screen that bolts on to the Triumph fly screen. I like the look of this one beter than the SECDEM one. It looks more like what Triumph should have made to begin with. It is listed on their site as a new product for March 2006, which may explain why I don't see it with a price online yet.
I really like the look of the stock exhaust system on the bike, so I can't imagine changing it any time soon (especially given the costs involved), but here are some offerings anyways.
I think the Wolf Racing silencers were some of the first aftermarkets that I saw online. They offer stainless, carbon, and titanium silencers and half-systems that have pretty much the same look and fit as the stock Triumph exhaust. They also claim a 7bhp gain for cans-only and 12bhp for the half system. Pricey stuff: Cans are $756-945, half-systems $1135-1324. They also market these as Trident Exhausts.
The ZARD (Italian-only website) system is, at a minimum, a cool piece of work. I would certainly consider something like it for the bike in the future. There is a good rundown on someone's install of the system in this post on TriumphRat.net. The user caimed a price of about $1200 for the full system. Eyeballing ZARD's chart, the max power gain is about 5kw, which (rounded up) is about 7bhp.
